Major-Minor is a boutique online bedding store, established in 2011 by mother and daughter, Anne and Hannah in the small south coastal town of Berry, Australia. They are lovers of textiles and authentic goods made from natural materials - wood, leather, linen and silk. Whilst on an adventure through Europe they had purchased linen and returned home to find a very limited selection of premium linen brands in Australia. They went about designing and creating their new collection of yarns spun from premium grade flax sourced in France. They want to bring together a community who share the same values and are interested in sustainability as well as good design and style.
MAJOR-MINOR's new collection is made from 100% European linen, sourced from one of the oldest flax mills. Their linen's journey from field to fabric consists of six main stages: yarn spinning, weaving, designing, dyeing, finishing, and sewing. In a time of mass production and the constant quest for cheaper products, they have decided to take the lesser known path and have their products 100% made in Europe. The new collection is designed to be timeless with a subtle, understated, classic elegance. This season’s colour palette gives a nod to classic tones including: Inkstripe which is woven with blue yarn and features a deep, intense Indigo blue and grey stripe; Ash- chambray woven with light grey and subtle blue undertone; Fine-check- pure white linen with a contemporary fine subtle black check; Slate- a dark charcoal like faded blue grey shade and Olive which is an earthy shade of green. The colourway is designed for easy living, coordination and strikes a beautiful balance between style and usability.
